Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola spoke about Kevin de Bruyne’s decision to leave the club at the end of the current season, praising the Belgian midfielder as a vital part of the team. Guardiola expressed confidence that the club will honor de Bruyne with a statue in recognition of his immense contribution.
“Kevin is not just a player, but a remarkable person,” Guardiola said in an interview with City Xtra. “Over the past ten years, we’ve shared so much—games, training sessions, highs, and lows. He’s been with us every day, except for weekends and international breaks. It’s hard to come to terms with the fact that this chapter is coming to an end.”
Guardiola also shared his belief that Manchester City will soon unveil a statue of de Bruyne in front of the Etihad Stadium, a tribute he feels the midfielder truly deserves.
