Newcastle fans have recently been unsettled by reports that star forward Alexander Isak might be hesitant to sign a new contract extension, even though his current deal still has several years remaining. However, head coach Eddie Howe remains optimistic.
Howe expressed that Isak’s contract doesn’t present any immediate concerns for Newcastle, though he emphasized the desire for the forward to stay with the club long-term.
“Alex is on a long contract… and we’re mindful of our spending. I don’t foresee any short-term issues with his contract. We love having him here and want him to stay,” Howe shared with Fabrizio Romano.
Reminder: Previous reports suggested Newcastle is concerned that Isak may be reluctant to extend his contract, which runs through 2028, amid interest from Chelsea.
