Cameroonian football icon Joseph Antoine Bell has publicly criticized Samuel Eto’o, the president of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), highlighting significant administrative turmoil. Speaking on the French radio program “After Foot RMC,” Bell asserted that FECAFOOT is embroiled in numerous disputes.
“FECAFOOT is plagued by widespread issues,” Bell stated, listing conflicts with the Ministry of Sports, the players’ union, referees, clubs, the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and ONIES. He emphasized that these were factual observations, not mere opinions, and suggested that FECAFOOT’s widespread conflicts indicate a need for internal reflection. Bell implied that Eto’o and his administration must address their own conduct to resolve the escalating tensions within Cameroonian football.
This critique arrives amidst a period of instability for FECAFOOT, with national team coach Marc Brys recently threatening resignation due to alleged manipulative tactics against him.
