Midfielder Pedri began his journey at Barcelona under the guidance of Ronald Koeman. While he is now an integral part of the team, just five or six years ago, it was uncertain whether he would even secure a spot in the squad. However, Koeman recognized his potential early on.
Ahead of the match against the Spanish national team, the Netherlands coach and former Barcelona manager shared that it only took him a short time to assess Pedri’s abilities.
“It took me just two training sessions to realize how good he is as a player. I hope injuries force him to take better care of himself, because he is definitely one of the best midfielders,” Koeman said.
It was also recently reported that head coach Hansi Flick has approved the signing of Rayo Vallecano’s right-back Andrei Ratiu.
