Steve Bruce’s four-month-old grandson, Madison, has sadly passed away. Blackpool, Bruce’s current club, confirmed the tragic news via social media. The club announced that Bruce will miss the upcoming match against Barnsley. Specific details regarding the infant’s passing have not been revealed.
During the Blackpool vs. Barnsley match, the referee paused play to honor Steve Bruce’s grandson. Fans showed their support by giving a four-minute round of applause in tribute to the coach and his family.
Bruce’s son, Alex, who is an assistant coach at Salford City, will also miss his team’s next match. Madison was Alex’s nephew.

The 63-year-old Steve Bruce began his managerial career in the late 20th century, managing both Premier League and lower division clubs in England. He is best known for his six-year tenure at Birmingham City in the early 2000s and has also managed clubs such as Sheffield United, Huddersfield Town, Wigan Athletic, Crystal Palace, Sunderland, Hull City, Aston Villa, Sheffield Wednesday, Newcastle United, and West Bromwich Albion.
