Napoli forward Romelu Lukaku has shared insights into why he was unable to fully succeed in the Premier League as he has in Serie A.
According to the Belgian striker, his abilities were not effectively utilized in England, where he was often compared to the “new Didier Drogba.”
Lukaku explained, “In England, they wanted to put me in the penalty box. They see someone with my physique and think, ‘the new Drogba.’ But I’m not like that. Didier played more with his back to goal and could hold the ball no matter where you played it to him. That wasn’t my style.”
Lukaku has played for several English clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Everton, and was also loaned to West Bromwich.
Despite past challenges, he has enjoyed significant success in Serie A, having joined Napoli at the start of this season.
