Liverpool has received a significant boost in their efforts to sign a potential replacement for Luis Diaz — Rayan Cherki.
Details. Lyon has given Cherki the “green light” to leave amid links with Liverpool.
According to The Sun, the Frenchman has now reached an agreement to leave Lyon this upcoming summer.
However, the “Reds” will face stiff competition for his signature from several clubs interested in signing him, including Tottenham, Bayern Munich, Crystal Palace, and Fulham. Borussia Dortmund is also set to pursue Cherki, having failed in their attempt to sign him in January.
This season, Rayan has played 34 matches across all competitions, scoring 8 goals and providing 18 assists, bringing his total at the club to 25 goals and 42 assists in 175 appearances for the “Weavers”.
Reminder. Due to a financial crisis, Lyon has been hit with a transfer ban, and the club faces the threat of relegation if they fail to resolve their issues.
