AC Milan players Mike Maignan and Davide Calabria are expected to be fit for Sunday’s match against Inter, following injuries they sustained during their 1-3 loss to Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
Details: According to Italian media, both the goalkeeper and the defender have avoided serious injuries and will be available for the upcoming derby.
Gazzetta reports that Maignan trained with the team this morning and has recovered from his knee issue. He is pain-free and ready to play against Inter, with Calabria in the same situation.
Meanwhile, Malick Thiaw may start on the bench after recovering from an ankle injury. Serbian striker Luka Jović, who wasn’t included in the UEFA squad for the Liverpool match, will also be available for the derby.
Reminder: The Milan Derby is set for Sunday, September 22.
Milan has accumulated only 5 points in their first 4 Serie A games. After a string of poor results, coach Paulo Fonseca’s position is under pressure, and a loss to Inter could lead to his dismissal.
