On the night of Monday, April 28, Inter Miami faced FC Dallas in a regular MLS season match at home.
However, Miami wasn’t at full strength for the game. Luis Suárez, David Alaba, and the legendary Lionel Messi were all absent, with coach Javier Mascherano opting to rest them ahead of the upcoming return leg in the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
Despite missing key players, Miami played a strong 60 minutes. They conceded first but quickly equalized and then took a 3-1 lead. Unfortunately, they couldn’t hold on to the advantage. FC Dallas scored two quick goals in a four-minute span and sealed the win with a goal in the 81st minute.
The match ended in a 4-3 loss for Miami, leaving them in fifth place in the Eastern Conference with 18 points from nine games. Dallas, on the other hand, has accumulated 15 points after ten matches.
Inter Miami’s next match is on Thursday night, May 1, against Vancouver Whitecaps in the return leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
