Newcastle fans flooded the streets in celebration after their historic victory in the English League Cup. The “Magpies” secured their first domestic trophy in 70 years, and to mark the occasion, a grand parade was held in the city on March 29, attracting over 200,000 jubilant supporters.
The streets of Newcastle were packed with fans eager to see their heroes. A bus marked “WINNERS 24/25” made its way from St. James’ Park to Town Moor, where a ceremonial event took place, featuring club legends such as Alan Shearer and Les Ferdinand.
Magpies manager Eddie Howe was astonished by the scale of the celebration:
“I didn’t know what to expect, but this is just incredible. People are hanging from lampposts and windows. It’s amazing!”
Fans, dressed in black and white, gathered early in pubs and bars, with some even climbing trees and statues to catch a glimpse of their idols. The evening wrapped up with a stunning light show provided by the club’s sponsor.
In addition, it was announced that Eddie Howe would be awarded the city’s highest civic honor, the “Freedom of Newcastle,” in recognition of his contribution to the team’s historic achievement.
