Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has been named Premier League Player of the Month for August 2024, while Brighton & Hove Albion’s Fabian Hurzeler has earned the Manager of the Month award.
Haaland enjoyed a remarkable start to the season, scoring seven goals in just three matches. His impressive performance included back-to-back hat-tricks against Ipswich Town and West Ham United, bringing his tally to 97 goals in 102 games for City.
The shortlist for Player of the Month also featured Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, Aston Villa’s Amadou Onana, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Brighton’s Danny Welbeck, and Arsenal’s David Raya and Bukayo Saka.
“I am thrilled to receive this award so early in the season and grateful to everyone who voted for me,” said Haaland. “August was fantastic for the team, and I’m proud of my contribution. I’ll keep working hard to help the team succeed in all competitions, including the Champions League and Carabao Cup.”
Hurzeler, in his debut month, led Brighton to an unbeaten start, including wins over Everton and Manchester United and a draw against Arsenal.
“It’s always rewarding to win a trophy, but this reflects the collective effort of the whole club – my staff, players, and everyone involved,” Hurzeler said. “Now, we’ll focus on winning the next trophy.”
Hurzeler surpassed Mikel Arteta, Pep Guardiola, and Arne Slot to secure the Manager of the Month title.
