Al-Nassr captain, Cristiano Ronaldo marked a historic milestone on Saturday, even as his team fell to Al-Ahli in the Saudi Super Cup final.
According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 40-year-old Portugal star has become the first footballer ever to score 100 goals for four different clubs and his national team. Ronaldo reached this landmark after netting a penalty in the final, which was his 100th goal for Al-Nassr.
The match ended 2-2 after regular time, with Al-Ahli ultimately triumphing 4-3 in the penalty shootout.
Ronaldo opened the scoring for Al-Nassr with his milestone penalty. However, Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie equalized for Al-Ahli before halftime. Marcelo Brozovic restored Al-Nassr’s lead in the second half, only for Roger Ibañez to level the score again.
In the shootout, Al-Ahli’s goalkeeper Édouard Mendy made a crucial save, securing the victory for his side.
