English broadcaster Piers Morgan has wagered £10,000 that Erik ten Hag will not win either the Champions League or the Premier League during his tenure at Manchester United.
Morgan’s bet comes amid a spat between Ten Hag and Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo, who left United for Al Nassr in 2022 after a series of high-profile clashes with Ten Hag, recently criticized the Dutchman’s leadership on the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast. Ronaldo argued that Ten Hag should avoid publicly stating Manchester United’s limitations regarding top competitions.
Ten Hag responded to Ronaldo’s criticism by attributing it to Ronaldo’s detachment from the club’s current situation, given his move to Saudi Arabia.
In reaction, Morgan, a known supporter of Ronaldo, took to X (formerly Twitter) to challenge Ten Hag. He wrote, “Ronaldo won three Premier League titles and a Champions League with United. I’ll bet Ten Hag £10,000 to charity that he won’t win either during his time at the club.”
