Former Manchester United and Everton striker Wayne Rooney singled out four Liverpool players for their standout performances in the Reds’ 1-0 Premier League victory against Arsenal on Sunday.
Rooney highlighted Ibrahima Konaté, Milos Kerkez, Virgil van Dijk, and Dominik Szoboszlai for their excellent displays at Anfield.
Szoboszlai’s second-half strike secured all three points for Arne Slot’s side, extending Liverpool’s strong start to the season.
“Liverpool were fantastic in the individual battles,” Rooney told Match of the Day. “They were fearless going into challenges against Arsenal, especially targeting Gyökeres.
“I thought the back four—Konaté, Kerkez, Van Dijk, and Szoboszlai—were outstanding, with Konaté and Van Dijk particularly impressive in how they controlled the game.”
