The Six Kings Slam, an exhibition tournament, took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, featuring some of the best modern-day tennis players. Competing in this mini-tournament were Holger Rune, Daniil Medvedev, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Jannik Sinner, and Carlos Alcaraz.
In the final, Jannik Sinner faced Carlos Alcaraz, the world’s top two ranked players. Leading up to this match, Alcaraz had won all three of their previous encounters in 2024, but Sinner managed to end his losing streak in Saudi Arabia.
In a thrilling three-set battle that lasted nearly two hours, Sinner claimed victory with a score of 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 6-3. For this win, Sinner will receive $6 million from the tournament organizers, marking it as the largest prize ever awarded in a tennis tournament. Additionally, each participant in the Six Kings Slam earned $1.6 million simply for attending the event in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier in the tournament, the third-place match featured tennis legends Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. This match could be significant for Nadal, as he is expected to retire at the end of the current season.
