Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny recently came out of retirement to join Barcelona as cover for the injured Marc-André ter Stegen. However, the 34-year-old has mostly been on the bench, serving as backup to Iñaki Peña, who remains in the starting lineup. Despite this, Szczęsny doesn’t seem too concerned about his lack of playing time.
Following the match against Bayern, Szczęsny had little interaction with the media but gave a brief message to Polish journalists, who were anticipating his debut in the starting eleven.
“Don’t stress too much,” Szczęsny told reporters from sport.pl.
Earlier reports suggested Szczęsny might debut for Barcelona in the game against Sevilla. However, Peña was chosen to start both that match and the following Champions League fixture against Bayern, as Hansi Flick continued to place his trust in him.
