Rumors regarding Wojciech Szczęsny’s potential transfer to Barcelona have surfaced in recent days, despite the fact that the Polish goalkeeper has reportedly retired. Now, Szczęsny himself has addressed these speculations.
The goalkeeper has chosen to distance himself from the rumors, instead expressing his support for a fellow player and wishing him a swift recovery.
“I just hope Mark gets well soon. He’s a good friend of mine and a great goalkeeper, and I wish him all the best. That’s the only thing I can comment on,” Szczęsny stated in an interview with Mundo Deportivo.
Earlier, Polish media reported that the 34-year-old goalkeeper had agreed to a move to Barcelona, and Szczęsny mentioned his dream of participating in El Clásico, though he did not specify the role he envisions for himself.
