Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny has decided to resume his career and take over for Marc-André ter Stegen at Barcelona. It seems that the 34-year-old’s three-month break has not negatively affected his physical condition.
According to Catalan radio station RAC1, Szczęsny is fully fit and prepared to make his debut for Barcelona in the upcoming La Liga match against Sevilla. The final decision now lies with the club’s head coach, Hans-Dieter Flick, who must choose between Szczęsny and Iñaki Peña for the starting goalkeeper role.
Barcelona’s squad situation has significantly improved ahead of Saturday’s clash with Sevilla, as Fermín López and Dani Olmo have returned from injury. However, their chances of starting against the Andalusians appear slim, given that both players have been out for over a month.
