Roma legend Francesco Totti shares his thoughts on the dismissal of his friend Daniele De Rossi from the club.
“De Rossi? He’s disappointed with how everything played out, both in terms of timing and manner. But these things happen in football, and one can always start anew after negative experiences,” Totti said, as reported by Football-Italia.
Background: Daniele De Rossi was let go from his coaching role at Roma in September, with Ivan Jurić stepping in as his replacement.
Italian media suggest that a key factor in De Rossi’s dismissal was a conflict with then-general manager Lina Souloukou. Their relationship had reportedly deteriorated due to disagreements over transfers and disappointing results.
Interestingly, there are reports that Roma is already contemplating a change in management due to Jurić’s lackluster performance, and a potential return for De Rossi has not been ruled out.
