Portuguese winger Francisco Trincão struggled to make an impact at Barcelona and returned to his homeland by joining Sporting in the summer of 2023. However, Barcelona retained special rights over the player, but those rights won’t last indefinitely.
According to Record, Barcelona held a buy-back option for Trincão from Sporting, valued at €25 million, but this option is only valid until June 30, 2024. After that date, if Barcelona wants to bring Trincão back, they will need to compete with other clubs interested in signing the winger.
As a reminder, in addition to the buy-back option, Barcelona also retained 50% of any future sale of Trincão. It is also reported that Barcelona is prepared to offer Ansu Fati a new contract.
