In the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, Barcelona welcomed Borussia Dortmund to the Camp Nou, and an historic moment came early in the match.
In the 25th minute, Raphinha put the Catalans ahead with a goal assisted by Pau Cubarsí. With that assist, Cubarsí made history, becoming the youngest defender ever to register an assist in a Champions League match.
At just 18 years and 77 days old, Cubarsí broke the previous record held by Vincent Kompany, who was 18 years and 193 days old when he set the mark.
In the same match, Lamine Yamal also made history, becoming the first player under 18 to play in 20 Champions League games. Yamal, who made his tournament debut last season, has scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists in his 20 appearances.
As a reminder, this is the first leg of the quarter-finals between Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, with the return leg scheduled to take place in Dortmund next week.
