Paris Saint-Germain made a bold move last summer by signing the young French talent Désiré Doué, and even before the current season concludes, they are already seeing the benefits of their investment.
In the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals against Aston Villa, the 18-year-old forward scored the equalizer in the first half.
This goal marked Doué’s fifth in his last four matches. He had previously scored against Saint-Étienne (netting a brace), Dunkirk, Angers, and now Aston Villa.
It’s worth mentioning that in the summer of 2024, PSG paid Rennes 50 million euros for Doué’s transfer. Since joining PSG, the young forward has scored 12 goals and provided 13 assists across all competitions in 42 matches.
Today marks the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final between PSG and Aston Villa, with the return leg set to take place in Birmingham next week. The winner will face either Bayern Munich or Inter Milan in the semi-finals.
