The new Copa Libertadores season kicks off this week, with Chilean side Colo-Colo set to face Bucaramanga. Team captain Arturo Vidal shared his thoughts and expectations ahead of the tournament’s opening.
Details: Vidal expressed the team’s excitement and anticipation for the start of the competition, acknowledging the challenge ahead. He emphasized that they’ve prepared thoroughly and are ready for a tough match.
Quote: “We look strong and are very excited. I think it’s crucial to start on the right foot. Of course, it will be a tough game against a team making its Libertadores debut, so we’ve worked hard. All the players are in top shape, at 100%, and that’s a huge advantage,” Vidal said in an interview with Latercera.
He also highlighted Colo-Colo’s ambitious goal for the season: winning the Copa Libertadores.
Quote: “When you step onto the field, you’re representing the country and Colo-Colo. It’s always special to play away, and this year, we have a very clear goal — to win the cup,” Vidal added.
In their opening match, Colo-Colo will face Colombian side Bucaramanga away from home, with the game scheduled to kick off at 2:30 CET.
Reminder: We’ve also prepared the draw results for the Copa Libertadores group stage. Botafogo is the reigning champion.
