After West Ham’s ambitious transfer window, the team’s disappointing start has led to speculation regarding manager Julen Lopetegui’s future, despite his recent arrival. However, the Spanish coach remains unfazed by the rumors.
Lopetegui acknowledged that pressure is a constant aspect of a manager’s role and expressed confidence that West Ham will find their rhythm and improve their results.
“When you become a coach, you’re always living under pressure. It’s normal, and sometimes it’s even beneficial. That’s just part of our life. It’s true we didn’t start as well as we wanted, but we’re confident that we’re making strides and will end the season where we want to be.
There are many matches ahead. I have great belief in these players and am certain results will come. The only way forward is hard work, staying self-critical, and continuing to improve—and that’s exactly what we’re doing.”
It was previously reported that Edin Terzić, the former Borussia Dortmund manager, is being considered as a potential successor to Lopetegui.
