Manchester City secured a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth in the FA Cup quarter-finals yesterday, but the win came at a significant cost.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City’s top scorer, Erling Haaland, will miss most of the remaining season due to an ankle injury. While the exact recovery timeline has not been revealed, it is expected that Haaland will return only for the final matches of the Premier League and will be available to play in the Club World Cup.
After the match against Bournemouth, Haaland was seen leaving the field on crutches.
This season, the 24-year-old forward has scored 30 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions.
In other news, this FA Cup semi-final appearance marks the 20th time in Manchester City’s history that they have reached this stage.
