Bayern Munich’s international break has brought nothing but bad news, with Dayot Upamecano joining Alphonso Davies on the injury list.
The club confirmed that the French center-back has suffered a ligament strain in his left knee, and he is expected to be sidelined for several weeks.
Meanwhile, Alphonso Davies has sustained a more serious injury, ruling him out for the rest of the season. He has been diagnosed with a torn cruciate ligament in his knee, and his recovery is expected to take at least six months.
In other news, we previously reported that Bayern’s goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is at risk of missing the upcoming Bundesliga matches against St. Pauli and Augsburg. However, there is still a possibility he could return in time for the UEFA Champions League clash against Inter Milan on April 8, with the club’s medical staff set to assess his condition.
On a positive note, Bayern Munich has officially confirmed that they’ve reached an agreement with German midfielder and team leader Joshua Kimmich for a new contract, which will run until June 2029.
