Brazilian winger Rodrygo of Real Madrid suffered an injury during a UEFA Champions League match, and it has been confirmed how long he will be out of action.
According to journalist Mario Cortegana from The Athletic, Rodrygo is expected to miss approximately three weeks, meaning he will be unavailable for four upcoming matches: against Barcelona, Valencia, Osasuna, and Milan in the UEFA Champions League.
Real Madrid has officially announced the injury, confirming that Rodrygo has been diagnosed with a muscle injury to his right hamstring.
Despite this setback, there is a chance he could return to play for Brazil in the World Cup 2026 qualifying matches, scheduled for November 14 and 20, which fall 22 and 28 days after his injury. Brazil is set to face Venezuela and Uruguay in these fixtures.
In related news, during the match against Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid’s starting goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois also sustained a muscle injury. He will definitely miss El Clásico, with backup goalkeeper Andriy Lunin stepping in to take his place. Additionally, two more players, David Alaba and Dani Carvajal, are currently in the treatment room.
