Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu is facing new health issues, as confirmed by head coach Mikel Arteta. “I hope his recovery won’t take too long, but we need to see how he responds to the workload when he returns. We really need him. He’s been incredible, putting in countless hours to make his comeback,” said Arteta.
Earlier, Arteta provided updates on the injury statuses of Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz. Additionally, Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli sustained an injury while on international duty with Brazil.
Due to injury, Tomiyasu has only played one match this season. On October 5, the Japanese defender made a brief 6-minute appearance against Southampton after recovering from a previous injury.
Tomiyasu joined Arsenal in the summer of 2021 from Bologna for €18.6 million. Prior to that, he played in Belgium for St. Truiden and started his career in Japan with Avispa Fukuoka.
