In two days, Barcelona will host Inter for the first leg of their 2024/25 UEFA Champions League semi-final, but Nerazzurri fans are facing some tough news ahead of the match.
According to L’Equipe, Inter’s key defender, Benjamin Pavard, will miss the first leg against Barcelona. Pavard sustained a muscle injury to his ankle early in Inter’s recent 1-0 loss to Roma, ruling him out not only for the Barcelona clash but also for their Serie A match against Verona. There is hope, however, that he could recover in time for the return leg against Barcelona.
This season, Pavard has featured in 36 matches across all competitions, scoring a goal in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Bayern.
