The tennis racket used by Roger Federer in the iconic 2011 French Open final against Rafael Nadal is set to be auctioned at Goldin Auctions, according to TMZ.
The match between Federer and Nadal is considered one of tennis’ greatest showdowns, and the racket used by Federer during that historic encounter could fetch a significant sum for its new owner.
This Wilson racket, featuring red, gold, and black stripes with a white handle, is fully authenticated through Resolution Photomatching technology. Its value is further enhanced by Federer’s signature on the handle.
“The prestigious racket offers a tangible connection to one of the most celebrated rivalries in sports history, offering collectors a chance to own a true Grand Slam-worthy piece of tennis memorabilia,” said an auction representative.
For a reminder, the thrilling final ended with Nadal’s victory in four sets (7-5, 7-6, 5-7, 6-1), as he claimed his fourth French Open title.
