Brazil’s humiliating 4-1 defeat to Argentina has ignited a leadership crisis within the national team. According to Globo Esporte, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is now contemplating parting ways with coach Dorival Júnior, following a series of disappointing performances and mounting internal pressure.
At the heart of the discussions is Carlo Ancelotti, the CBF’s long-time preferred candidate. The Italian manager, currently with Real Madrid, is once again being considered as a potential solution to Brazil’s struggling campaign for the 2026 World Cup.
Although securing Ancelotti would be a challenging task, the current climate within the CBF could prompt the federation to act. The report indicates that CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues has become increasingly distant from Dorival and his staff, both physically and in terms of communication.
With the World Cup fast approaching, Brazil may be forced to make a critical decision—either doubling down on Dorival or making a bold move to bring in a manager of Ancelotti’s caliber.
