Chelsea is actively pursuing the transfer of 20-year-old Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens and has made significant progress in talks with his representatives. The player could soon make a move to the London club.
Head coach Enzo Maresca has prioritized strengthening the wings this summer, particularly with the potential suspension of Mykhailo Mudryk and uncertainty surrounding Jadon Sancho’s future, as he’s currently on loan from Manchester United.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Chelsea has already approached Gittens and is prepared to offer him a salary of €6–7 million per year, which would be double what he currently earns at Dortmund.
Dortmund is reportedly open to selling for a reasonable fee of around €50–60 million, a significant decrease from the previously discussed €100 million. Gittens has been in strong form this season, registering 12 goals and 5 assists across all competitions.
