Amid a clash with Atalanta’s head coach Gian Piero Gasperini, star player Ademola Lookman is looking to leave Bergamo, with serious competition emerging for his signature.
Earlier, Tottenham and Juventus were reported to be interested in the Nigerian forward, but now a third club has entered the race: Barcelona, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Lookman is aware that he isn’t Barcelona’s only candidate to strengthen their left-wing position, but he remains confident that he could become the new wide player for the Catalan side.
While Barcelona values Lookman’s skills, he isn’t their top priority. The club’s main targets are Luis Díaz from Liverpool, followed by Rafael Leão from Milan. Only if talks with these two players fall through will Barcelona turn their attention to Lookman.
It’s worth noting that the conflict between Lookman and Gasperini arose after Atalanta’s exit from the Champions League, where Lookman missed a penalty. Gasperini criticized the player, while fans showed their support for the winger.
