The future of Manchester United’s promising midfielder, Kobbie Mainoo, at Old Trafford is currently shrouded in uncertainty, leaving the club with a difficult decision to make next summer.
According to Caughtoffside, despite ongoing contract discussions that have been taking place since March of last year, the two parties have yet to come to an agreement. As a result, the likelihood of Mainoo departing when the summer transfer window opens appears to be growing.
There is now a genuine possibility that Mainoo could leave if no compromise is found, with Manchester United reportedly considering a sale for around £70 million.
Mainoo, 19, has struggled to settle into a regular position under manager Ruben Amorim, who has used him in a variety of roles this season. The young midfielder has played as a defensive midfielder, a number 10, and even as a makeshift striker during a match against Crystal Palace earlier this year.
It has also been previously reported that Chelsea is interested in signing the English talent.
