AC Milan is evaluating potential departures for the upcoming summer transfer window, following the underperformance of several players, including Yunus Musah. The 22-year-old American midfielder, who plays alongside Santiago Giménez for the US national team, has struggled to meet expectations, despite getting regular minutes under Stefano Pioli. With 24 Serie A appearances (1,393 minutes), Musah has contributed only two assists and no goals, with noticeable struggles in midfield accuracy and limited offensive impact.
Although his contract runs until 2028, Milan would consider selling him if a strong offer comes through. Italian media and journalist Nicolò Schira have pointed to Olympique Lyonnais as a potential suitor, though no formal talks have begun. Musah, who joined Milan in 2023, faces an uncertain future if his performances don’t improve.
Currently sitting ninth in the league and four points off European spots, Milan’s hopes of returning to the Champions League remain alive but are fading as the team continues to struggle for consistency. This situation puts additional pressure on the club to make roster adjustments. Musah’s situation highlights a recurring issue for the Rossoneri: players with potential who fail to fully realize it within the club’s project.
