Juventus has officially announced the acquisition of Portuguese defender Alberto Costa from Vitória Guimarães.
Transfer Details
The 21-year-old has signed a contract with the Turin club that will keep him at Juventus until June 30, 2029. According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the deal is valued at €12.5 million, with an additional €2.5 million in potential bonuses.
Juventus shared the news on their official social media, unveiling Costa as their new number 2.
Competition for Costa’s Signature
Juventus edged out Sporting Lisbon to secure the highly sought-after defender. Costa has been a standout performer this season, making 21 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal, and providing three assists for Vitória Guimarães.
Juventus Eye Further Defensive Reinforcements
Reports earlier suggested that Juventus is preparing a fresh bid for AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori. This comes after the club’s unsuccessful attempt to sign Barcelona’s Ronald Araújo.
Costa’s arrival signals Juventus’ intent to bolster their defensive ranks as they continue to build for the future.
