Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade have emerged as a strong candidate to sign 10-year NBA veteran guard Cameron Payne, according to NBA insider Marc Stein. Payne, who most recently attended training camp with the Indiana Pacers, is linked to the Serbian EuroLeague club following a season-ending foot injury to guard Carlik Jones.
The Pacers waived Payne after a brief preseason stint. In three preseason games, the 31-year-old struggled to find his rhythm, averaging 6.7 points in 17.1 minutes while shooting 28.6% from the field and 30.6% from three-point range.
A first-round pick (No. 14) in the 2015 NBA Draft out of Murray State, Payne has played for seven NBA teams, including the New York Knicks last season, where he averaged 6.9 points and 2.8 assists across 72 games (five starts). His most notable NBA moment came with the Phoenix Suns as the backup point guard during their 2020–21 Finals run, falling to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Over his career, Payne has posted averages of 7.8 points, 3.2 assists, and 41.9% shooting from the field (36.8% from three) in 477 NBA games.
