Arsenal, Liverpool, and Nottingham Forest are all competing for the signature of Mohamed Amura, a player dubbed the next Riyad Mahrez. The 24-year-old winger has been in outstanding form in the Bundesliga while on loan at Wolfsburg, following his move from Union Saint-Gilloise.
Amura has impressed this season, scoring 10 goals and registering 9 assists in 27 Bundesliga appearances in the 2024/25 campaign. His stock rose even further after a hat-trick for Algeria against Mozambique. Wolfsburg, who has the option to purchase him for nearly £14 million this summer under the loan agreement, may look to sell him for a much higher price given his remarkable performances.
According to L’Equipe, Liverpool has already opened talks with Amura’s representatives, but both Arsenal and Nottingham Forest are also pursuing the winger, intensifying the competition for his services.
Amura is currently contracted to Wolfsburg until 2028, with an option for an additional year. The club remains in the hunt for European competition spots and is expected to demand a transfer fee between £29.3 million and £33.5 million. Wolfsburg’s head coach, Ralph Hasenhüttl, has praised Amura, describing him as energetic and likening him to a player who “runs on electric batteries.”
