In the 2024 winter transfer window, speculation about Mohamed Salah’s potential move to Saudi Arabia was prevalent, and it appears there was some truth to these rumors.
Michael Emenalo, head of the Saudi Pro League, confirmed that clubs in the region expressed interest in the Liverpool forward. However, Salah was not inclined to make the move.
“It really depends on Mo. The reports about our clubs pursuing him are accurate, and there was genuine interest. But, similar to the situation with Victor Osimhen, while I might want to sign Mo, the club needs to be willing to let him go. If those elements don’t align, the deal won’t materialize.
Liverpool had no intention of selling, and we had to consider at what price we were ready to acquire him. I didn’t sense the player was ready to leave because he felt he still had unfinished business,” Emenalo stated during an interview on The Obi One Podcast.
