With speculation surrounding Kyle Walker’s possible departure from Manchester City, the club has intensified its search for a replacement, with Tottenham’s Pedro Porro emerging as a top candidate.
Walker may be open to a move as early as next summer. Despite expressing a desire to stay at City, factors both personal and professional could influence his decision, including a lucrative offer from a Saudi Arabian club.
Manchester City views Porro as an ideal right-back replacement. Former Spurs player Paul Robinson pointed out that Porro is likely a strong contender for Walker’s position but also advised Tottenham to hold firm, especially given their league ambitions.
“From Tottenham’s perspective, it’s crucial to keep him. He’s exactly the kind of player they need if they want to compete for Champions League spots, and they shouldn’t sell to rivals,” Robinson shared on the *Inside Track* podcast by Football Insider radio. “As much as it pains me, he’d be a great fit for Pep Guardiola’s system.”
Background: Pedro Porro joined Tottenham in 2022 from Sporting CP in a €40 million transfer. He has since secured a starting role, with 37 appearances, four goals, and seven assists last season. His contract with Tottenham extends until 2028, with an estimated value of €45 million according to Transfermarkt.
