Italy’s Alessia Orro has been named the Most Valuable Player of the 2025 FIVB Women’s World Championship, held in Thailand, after leading her team to a triumphant world title. The 27-year-old setter played a pivotal role in orchestrating Italy’s offense, earning recognition as both the tournament MVP and Best Setter.
Orro headlines a strong Italian presence on the tournament’s Dream Team, joined by libero Monica De Gennaro and team captain Anna Danesi, who was honored as one of the Best Middle Blockers.
Despite finishing as runners-up, Türkiye also took home individual accolades. Star opposite Melissa Vargas was named Best Opposite, while veteran captain Eda Erdem shared Best Middle Blocker honors with Danesi.
The all-star lineup was rounded out by standout performers from the other semifinalists. Brazil’s Gabi Guimarães and Japan’s Mayu Ishikawa were recognized as the Best Outside Hitters, highlighting the global talent on display throughout the tournament.
