Poland’s national volleyball team suffered a 0–3 loss to Brazil on the second day of the Hubert Jerzy Wagner Memorial tournament in Kraków. Head coach Nikola Grbić made several changes to the lineup following Friday’s win over Serbia, but the rotated squad couldn’t find their rhythm against a revitalized Brazilian team.
Artur Szalpuk was Poland’s top scorer with 13 points, but Brazil’s Darlan Souza and Arthur led the charge with 19 and 14 points respectively. After a lackluster start to the tournament with a 0–3 defeat to Argentina, the Brazilians bounced back convincingly, controlling the match from start to finish.
Poland, who began the tournament with a dominant victory over Serbia, will now face Argentina in their final match. Brazil are set to take on Serbia as both teams look ahead to the upcoming World Championship.
In the other Saturday fixture, Argentina continued their strong form with a commanding 3–0 win over Serbia — their second straight-set victory of the tournament.
Saturday’s Results:
-
Poland 0–3 Brazil (23–25, 20–25, 23–25)
-
Serbia 0–3 Argentina (20–25, 18–25, 17–25)
