Canada kicked off their 2025 FIVB Women’s World Championship campaign with a solid 3-1 victory over Bulgaria in Pool E. The match ended 25-23, 25-18, 23-25, 25-18 in favor of the Canadians.
Andrea Mitrovic spearheaded the effort, scoring 17 points as Canada capitalized on Bulgaria’s errors during crucial moments. Nyadholi Thokbuom provided strong support, contributing 15 points to the win.
Despite Bulgaria mounting a spirited comeback in the third set, coach Giovanni Guidetti’s team closed out the match confidently in four sets.
