Farm Fresh delivered a commanding performance on Saturday, sweeping Capital1, 25-20, 25-15, 25-21, to punch its ticket to the PVL On Tour quarterfinals at the newly inaugurated Dasmariñas Arena.
In a knockout match where nothing could be left to chance, the Foxies unleashed their full arsenal, dominating every major statistical category to eliminate the winless Solar Spikers from contention.
Farm Fresh outclassed Capital1 in attacks (42-25), blocks (13-4), and service aces (8-2) — a complete performance that underscored their depth and growing chemistry under head coach Alessandro Lodi.
Robins-Hardy Orchestrates Foxies’ Masterclass
Alohi Robins-Hardy, the third overall pick in the recent rookie draft, earned Best Player of the Game honors, tallying 15 excellent sets and five points, while masterfully distributing the offense.
“It’s really about my teammates,” said Robins-Hardy. “I just try to give them the best ball possible — and they do the rest.”
Despite committing 25 unforced errors — 13 more than Capital1 — Farm Fresh’s superior execution and firepower kept the outcome firmly in their control.
Balanced Offense, Relentless Defense
Trisha Tubu led all scorers with 15 points, including four blocks, while Caitlin Viray and Lorene Toring chipped in 11 points each. Jolina dela Cruz added 10, and Rizza Cruz contributed nine.
The Foxies also impressed on defense, with libero Ann Monares anchoring the floor with 14 digs and nine receptions, while Viray and dela Cruz added nine and six receptions, respectively.
Even as Capital1 threatened in the third set — erasing a 10-16 deficit to take a 20-19 lead — Farm Fresh kept its composure. Toring tied the score with a quick hit, Tubu followed with a crucial block, and the Foxies closed the door with a final 6-1 run capped by a dela Cruz kill.
“I just try to stay calm,” Robins-Hardy said, reflecting on the third-set push. “We knew we could finish strong.”
Capital1 Bows Out Winless
Capital1 exited the tournament winless in five matches, despite flashes of promise. KC Galdones led the team with seven points, while Trisha Genesis and Pia Abbu added six apiece. Sydney Niegos had five, and veteran Shola Alvarez was limited to just three points in a tough outing.
The Solar Spikers struggled to establish rhythm throughout, their offense stifled by Farm Fresh’s airtight blocking and relentless floor defense.
With the win, Farm Fresh joins early quarterfinal qualifiers PLDT, Cignal, Nxled, and Creamline. Three more knockout matches will determine the rest of the Last 8 in this high-stakes pre-season tournament organized by Sports Vision.
