Germany began their 2025 FIVB Women’s World Championship campaign in dominant fashion, defeating Kenya 3–0 in Pool G. Although Kenya showed early promise and even led at times in the opening set, Germany’s composure prevailed as they edged it 25–22. From there, the tide turned decisively.
The second set was one-sided, with Germany asserting total control and limiting Kenya to just eight points. While the third set saw a more competitive effort from the Kenyans, Germany’s experience and discipline sealed the match with a 25–20 win.
Lina Alsmeier and Emilia Weske led the charge for Germany with 13 points apiece, while captain Camilla Weitzel added nine. Kenya’s standout performer was Veronica Adhiambo Oluoch, who notched 19 points in a strong individual display.
In other action, the Dominican Republic cruised to a straight-sets win over Colombia in Pool F, and Japan opened their Pool H campaign with an equally emphatic 3–0 victory.
