Japan halted Thailand’s impressive run at the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship with a commanding straight-sets victory in Bangkok. Despite the roaring support from the home crowd at the packed Huamark Indoor Stadium, Thailand struggled to disrupt Japan’s flow as the visitors secured a 3-0 win (25-20, 25-23, 25-23). This victory marked Japan’s tenth consecutive win against their regional rivals.
Japan’s captain Mayu Ishikawa led the charge with 14 points, while Haruyo Shimamura and Yukiko Wada contributed 12 and 11 points respectively. On the Thai side, Chatchu-On Moksri and Pimpichaya Kokram put up strong performances with 12 and 11 points but were unable to shift the momentum in their favor.
